Meet Amy Commanda
M.A., RP
ASSOCIATE THERAPIST AND CLINICAL OPERATIONS COORDINATOR (she/her)
“My goal is to help people understand themselves and their story in a way that allows them to remain confident and true to themselves.”
Amy is currently accepting new clients with no wait times and has daytime and some evening availability from Tuesday to Thursday for virtual sessions.
I have a passion for helping empower women, mothers, and couples to overcome their struggles and live a life where they can be their authentic selves.
As a First Nations woman, mother, and therapist, I understand the unique challenges women face in today's world. My journey has led me to a deep passion: empowering women to overcome their struggles and embrace their authentic selves.
I've walked the path of perinatal anxiety and depression, grappled with my Indigenous identity, and faced intergenerational trauma. These experiences have shaped me not just as a person, but as a therapist who can see, feel and understand the pain points on this journey.
In my culture, women are the backbone of the community. This belief infuses my practice with a deep respect for the feminine spirit and a commitment to amplifying women's voices in a world that often overlooks us.
Imagine a cherry blossom tree in full bloom – that's the striking beauty and power of a woman living her truth. At Cherry Tree Counselling, we nurture that inner strength, helping you blossom into your fullest potential.
I believe that each person is blessed with special gifts and a unique purpose through which we can positively impact the community and world around us. When we live in a harmonious and balanced way, we are able to thrive in our daily life and relationships and appreciate all that life has to offer, sharing our gifts and purpose with others.
Whether you're struggling with motherhood, identity, or simply feeling lost in life's challenges, I'm here to walk alongside you. Together, we'll uncover your unique gifts and purpose, creating a life where you can thrive and make your mark on the world.
As a licensed member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, I am committed to providing a safe, therapeutic environment to best facilitate your healing journey. I follow a gentle and empathetic approach that is collaborative, prioritizing your needs and intentions as we develop a treatment plan that works best for you.
If you're ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, I'm here to provide a safe, nurturing space for your growth. Let's work together to help you bloom into the vibrant, confident woman you're meant to be.
Amy is accepting new clients and is available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am-4:30pm as well as some evening hours.
